On our January 2020 Brilliance of the Seas cruise to Cozumel, Mexico, we purchased day passes to El Cozuemeleño resort. For about $50 you get great pool area, a beach, top-notch service, and quality food and drinks. Towels do cost $5 extra - which we found a bit odd. So often when traveling, I go out of my way to avoid the touristy spots – especially when it’s a place I’ve been to many times. Day 4 on our Empress of the Seas Cuba cruise had us in Cozumel Mexico. We’ve been to Cozumel many times before and it feels a little bit like home whenever we visit. Visiting a fun and familiar destination today softened the blow of leaving Cuba yesterday, which was of course a major highlight of our journey. I started Day 3 with a trip to the Oceanview Cafe for some melon and sausage. The friends I’m on the trip with tried the Opus Dining Room for breakfast. They reported that the menu was about the same as what’s available in the buffet, but brought to you. They said they will probably stick to the buffet for breakfast from here out.
